(due to some technical difficulties we will be posting a text version of the round details, so as not to keep you all waiting!)

After the official announcement of the Technicolor Competition's competitors, the ever wonderful, ever lovely and super awesome mayor Babbit takes the podium in the town square.

Or tried to. She was a little short.

"MI-YULLS!!!"

Miles quickly placed her kiddy stool behind the podium for her to climb up on, and earned a nasty cigar burn from Babbit as a reward as she put it out on his nose.

"AHEM!"

The tiny toon tapped the mic to get everyone's attention, dolling out the baby-girl charm with a bat of her eyelashes and a cute pose.

" Hi everybody! Golly it's great to see so many folks turn up today.." Babbit held her hands behind her back and swayed left and right, shuffling her feet.

A sign lit up above her that said 'Awwwww'.

" In a few weeks we're officially going to start our technicolor competition, to see which of these..wonderful toons -deserves- to have color! But whats a competition without a theme? Go ahead, ask me what the theme is!"

Silence from the crowd.

". . . . ."

More silence.

Her expression turned deadpan. " MI-YULLS."

Miles snapped to attention and leaned over to speak into the mic. " What's the theme Babbit?"

Satisfied, she shoved him out of the way. Couldn't let him hog the attention for too long now.

"THE THEME! Is..Silence! Because you gotta know your roots and know how to be an old silent cartoon before you can be a new one. Competitors will be taken to a propaganda cartoon set to fight..but them kraut cartoons are pretty ornery you know. They're patrollin' that set like it aint no one's business! So you wanna be as quiet as possible..or you'll have more than your opponent to worry about. And if y'make a sound?"

She leaned forward, grabbing the edge of he podium. Looking SUPER SERIOUS.

"Don't get caught!"

ROUND I

The Skinny:

You and your opponent are placed on the set of a propaganda cartoon! Not only must your character battle in silence, but they must be careful not to get the attention of the war toons patrolling the set. How you want to handle it from there is up to you! Maybe they follow the rules exactly and are completely silent. Maybe they find a way to use it to frame their opponent - it's up to you!

You will be given four weeks starting today.

Your rounds will be due April 25th.

If there are any questions, as usual, don't hesitate to ask!

Barring extreme circumstances, there will be no extension offered for Round I due to the substantial time already given. Use your time wisely!

Trivia:
The army commissioned Warner Bros. to develop a series of animated army training videos during WWII. The reasoning was that, due to a large demographic of enlisted men that came from poor or uneducated families, they would more easily register and pay attention to entertaining videos and cartoons rather than long winded lectures on army guidelines and safety. Disney was also commissioned, but was far more expensive and far darker than their warner bros. counterpart, so was ultimately dropped.

Couple more questions:

-Is a cover or title page necessary?
-Do we submit the pages to the group ourselves, or is that considered presumptuous?
& Do we wait until we're finished the last page, or should the first page go up in the Round 1 gallery sooner?
